Egg & Toast Pan

Product

Overview

What is the Egg & Toast Pan?

The Egg & Toast Pan is a rectangular enameled cast iron pan inspired by Japan’s traditional tamagoyaki pan. While typically made from copper or aluminum for quick heat response, tamagoyaki pans have rarely been crafted from cast iron—until now. Reimagined with Japanese craftsmanship and precision engineering, it balances heat conductivity with heat retention to deliver exceptional efficiency—perfect for Japanese rolled omelets, toast, and seared vegetables. Unlike most tamagoyaki pans on the market, the Egg & Toast Pan features a non-toxic enamel finish, free from harmful materials.

Handle types

The Egg & Toast Pan is available with two handle options: premium wood or oven-safe aluminum.

Wood Handle: Thoughtfully designed for a comfortable, balanced grip, each handle is carved from premium wood and hand-finished for a seamless fit with the cast iron body.

  • Available in Oak or Walnut
  • Stovetop use only; not oven-safe

Is the pan non-stick?

Cooking

Preheating Guide

Here are key heating tips for making delicious dishes with the Egg & Toast Pan. Follow these simple steps to prevent sticking and achieve perfect results. Since the pan transfers heat exceptionally well, high heat is not necessary.

Tip 1: Thoroughly preheat the pan before adding ingredients.

  1. Preheat over medium heat for about 90 seconds (60 seconds with induction).
  2. Add in oil and swirl to coat evenly.
  3. Once oil begins to smoke across the entire surface, adjust heat level and start cooking.

Tip 2: Turn off heat when adding ingredients that tend to stick.

Some ingredients, such as eggs or flour, are more prone to sticking. For these, turning off the heat briefly will help equalize the pan’s surface temperature and minimize sticking.

  1. Preheat following the steps in Tip 1. As smoke rises from the entire surface, turn off the heat and wait for 10 to 15 seconds.
  2. Once smoke clears, add ingredients to the pan while the heat is turned off. Wait for 10 to 30 seconds.
  3. Turn the heat back on and cook over low or very low heat.

Please refer to Heating Guide on page 14 of the digital recipe booklet for details on heat levels.

Compatible cooking utensils

Enamel is a glass-based coating that can be scratched by metal utensils. To protect the surface and extend the life of your pan, we recommend using silicone or wooden utensils.

Cleaning & Care

Washing the pan

To protect the enamel coating, avoid abrasive cleaners and scrubbing tools (such as metal brushes or scouring pads). Instead, wash with mild dish soap and a soft sponge. The wooden handle may warp if left in water for too long, so be sure to dry it immediately after washing.

Dishwasher use

The aluminum handle model is dishwasher-safe, while the wooden handle model requires handwashing.

Cleaning tips

  • Removing stuck-on food
If the pan is not properly preheated or is used over high heat, food may burn and stick. To remove stuck-on food, we recommend cleaning with baking soda. See here for step-by-step instructions.
  • Removing stubborn burnt food
Cooking without removing previous residue or using high heat can cause food to burn and leave residue. Follow the step-by-step cleaning instructions here.
  • Removing oil stains
Oil stains do not affect cooking performance, but they may build up over time with use. For cleaning guidance, see the step-by-step instructions here.
  • Removing white spots
Enameled cast iron cookware may occasionally develop white spots from use. These can be cleaned by following the step-by-step instructions here.

Proper storage

Store the pan in a well-ventilated area. If stacking multiple sizes, we recommend placing paper towels or felt dividers between the pans to protect the enamel coating.

Over time, the wooden handle may fade, warp, or develop a slight gap at the hook due to sun exposure, heat, or humidity. To prevent this, we recommend storing the pan in a cool, dry, and dark place.
