Enameled cast iron pots can develop discoloration when cooking with highly pigmented ingredients such as tomato sauces or curries. If your pot develops discoloration, follow the steps below.
1. Apply a sufficient quantity of non-abrasive cleaner or cookware-safe bleach solution to cover the discolored area of the pot.
For non-abrasive cleaner, we recommend Bar Keeper's Friend Soft Cleanser
For the diluted bleach solution, we recommend a ratio of 1 tablespoon of bleach to 2 cups of water
2. Let the solution soak up to a few hours.
3. Gently scrub the discolored areas with mild dish soap and a soft sponge to remove them.
- Do not use abrasive cleaning agents and/or scrubbing pads (metal brushes, scouring pads, etc.) to clean the pot, as these may damage the enamel coating.
