Iron Casting

Iron Casting

Manufacturing a Yukihira saucepan with its distinct hammered pattern—cast to just 1.6 millimeters at the thinnest points—demands the highest standards of precision, beginning with the casting process. Our proprietary alloy of graphite iron and 13 other metals is melted at 2700ºF and carefully poured into sand molds, with temperature and flow rate meticulously controlled to preserve the thin‑wall structure and smooth hammered contours. Once cooled, each saucepan is hand‑polished by our craftspeople to ensure exceptional quality and a seamless finish in every piece.

Enamel Coating

Enamel Coating

Applying the enamel coating requires baking the cast iron pans at 1500ºF. To keep a pan as thin as 1.5 mm from warping at such temperatures is exceptionally challenging, requiring total focus and technical skill.

Wood Handle

Wood Handle

Each Yukihira Saucepan handle is carved from a single piece of high‑quality wood and hand‑polished for a smooth, comfortable grip. The seamless transition between the handle and the pan body is achieved through precise hand‑finishing, reflecting the care and craftsmanship behind every piece.
