What is the Oven Pot?

The Oven Pot is Vermicular's original enameled cast iron pot, featuring our signature precision seal developed after years of iterations. The contact area between the lid and pot has less than 0.01 mm of variance. This incredibly tight seal, combined with the pot's ridged base and hand-applied, triple-layer enamel coating create the optimal internal environment for heat conduction, radiant heat, and steam convection.

As a result, the inherent flavors of ingredients are drawn out and intensified, without ever compromising texture or nutrient density. The Oven Pot excels in all types of cooking, including, steam-roasting, rice cooking, and braising. Purposefully designed to capture and expand upon every benefit of cast iron cooking, the Oven Pot enhances everyday meals and is perfect for chefs of all levels.

Made with Japanese Craftsmanship

Handcrafted with impeccable attention to detail by the master craftspeople at our foundry in Japan, each Oven Pot undergoes a casting, precision machining, and non-toxic enamel coating process. Each step requires extreme accuracy and nimble handiwork, resulting in a beautiful piece of thoughtfully crafted, heirloom-worthy cookware.

Personalized Oven Pots take this time-intensive and meticulous craft even further by introducing a custom, made-to-order element to the casting and machining steps. Specially chosen characters are placed, piece-by-piece, inside a molding box, which is then tightly packed with sand to create a unique casting mold, into which molten iron is poured. Once cooled, hardened, and removed from its mold, each Personalized lid receives fine-tuned sanding and polishing to ensure the custom characters are pronounced and clearly legible, before joining other Oven Pots-to-be in enameling. Personalized Oven Pots are inspected thoroughly after each manufacturing step to ensure you'll receive exactly what you envisioned.

What Can Be Added?

We can add up to 11 characters, including spaces, to the lid of your Personalized Oven Pot.

Hearts are represented by a black triangle and spaces are represented by a black square. Please note that the same notations will be used in your order confirmation email. Any squares left blank will be counted as spaces.

In the example below, the following characters were entered for Emma S.'s Oven Pot:

Character Placement

Your characters will be molded from left to right, as shown in the samples.

• Insert space(s) before your characters if you want your phrase to appear closer to the handle on the right.
• Insert space(s) after your characters if you want your phrase to appear closer to the center of the lid (between the two handles).

When Will I Receive It?

Orders & Shipping

Orders must be placed by 4/7/2023 11:59 PM PST. Available for US residents only (domestic shipping).

Each Personalized Oven Pot is made-to-order, by hand, by our craftspeople in our foundry in Japan. Due to the time-intensive nature of the craft, Personalized Oven Pots require extra processing time and may take up to 3 months for manufacturing and shipment. Please understand that we are not able to provide a specific arrival date until the product arrives at the US facility.

Please note that we are unable to expedite shipping. All products in the order will be shipped together—if you are purchasing several products and would like to receive them earlier, we recommend placing the orders separately.

Returns & Exchanges

Each Personalized Oven Pot is made to order from a unique casting mold, therefore Personalized Oven Pots are NOT eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges.

Please note that the Oven Pot warranty only covers the pot of Personalized Oven Pots. We are unable to send a replacement lid in case of damage to the Personalized lid. See here for warranty details.

3. Select Add Personalization and enter your desired characters. Be sure to double-check your spelling and placement.
4. Read and agree to the terms, then select Add to Cart.
5. Proceed with checkout.
6. Within 2 business days of receiving your order, our support team will follow up with a confirmation email and instructions if you wish to make edits. (Please check your spam/junk inboxes if you have not received an email within 2 business days of purchase. If we do not hear from you within 72 hours, we will proceed with the personalization as originally submitted.)
7. All orders will be submitted to our foundry in Japan once we receive the confirmation. While our craftspeople begin handcrafting the pots, we'll keep you updated periodically with progress emails. Please keep in mind that it may take up to an estimated 3 months to receive your Personalized Oven Pot. We promise it's worth the wait!
